They released a patch, but it broke things.
Lyta had a little Vorlon, her skin was pale as snow. And everywhere that Lyta went, the Vorlon was sure to go.

I wonder how many potential players tried to play but couldn't, and will never play again.. :(

Can't they roll back to the old version until they make a new patch that works? Chances are the community will lose a bunch of new players otherwise :(

They can't do anything until valve gets into their office.

We sent them another depot, that reverts the changes we made that would break things without Valve fixing it (removed the steam.inf) However, this hasn't been pushed out at all, and we're a little in the dark right now.

Believe me, we're doing the best we can without being too obtrusive to Valve.

Good form.
I suppose they have to be aware of the problem by now.. I just hope it's fixed before much longer. :(

Steam client update released
March 16, 2009, 1:33 pm - Valve

* Several Steamworks updates
know whether it was anything that affected dystopia?

not sure but I bet some of it was for this http://store.steampowered.com/news/2355/

DLC can now be added to any game on Steam, regardless of whether it was originally purchased via Steam, at retail, or via other digital outlets. It is also a feature of Steamworks, the suite of free tools and services available to game developers and publishers.

It would seem to me that, in the event of an extend tut/campaign, DLC would be the way to go...

Since dystopia is a free game it doesn't need DLC. New content will be delivered via an update through steam.

Well yeah.
But I was thinking about the people who don't want the singleplayer part. As in, use the DLC to tack a hypothetical camp, like an expansion.

Dystopia doesn't have a singleplayer.

The tutorial needs to come as standard, no cherry picking what you like and don't like.

I seem to be having a difficult time expressing myself...

No, dystopia doesn't have single player. Yes, I knew that. As I said before, in the event of Dystopia getting a single player, DLC seems like the way to distribute it. Dystopia could benifit from a better tutorial, I agree. But if it's gonna be like, more than five maps, it might be better to make it an optional download.

I say we make use of DLC and put 3rd party maps in there. Instead of this single player that we will never have and if we do get it im pretty damn sure it will go straight into the game. The devs wouldnt spend that much time on something that is "optional"

Actually though, that's a good idea. Maybe get an update to the map pack first.
